The New York Times Students Editorial Contest is one of a series of student writing contests held by the New York Times for nine years. The competition invites students to turn their ideas on various social topics into formal, short, evidence-based persuasive essays. The competition encourages students to broaden their news channels by using multiple sources to get to know sources that offer a variety of perspectives on their chosen issues.
